Advocacy Workshops

The Student Representative Council and Griffith University Postgraduate Student Association are pleased to offer a series of Advocacy Workshops in Trimester 1 and 2

Students come across a variety of difficulties and/or challenges whilst studying at University. Our Advocacy workshops are designed to prepare you with the information you may need to tackle them as they arise. It is beneficial for students to be armed with knowledge about university processes that affect them, so that any issues can be dealt with swiftly without delay. This way your focus is back where it should be; On your studies!

Some topics for discussion include:

  • Your rights and responsibilities as a student

  • Important policies to be aware of; Assessment, Misconduct, Review & Appeals

  • How to communicate with staff

  • How to respond to to formal university emails

  • How to write a letter of complaint or appeal

Please register your interest in attending the SRC & GUPSA’s self-advocacy workshops. We will email you with more detail closer to the date. Each attendee will also be given a self-care goodie bag with a few important items valued at $30. Some snacks, tea and coffee is provided.

Registration is open to Undergraduate & Postgraduate students who are enrolled at any Griffith University Brisbane campus.
